When preparing for the plastic surgical exam at the end of my training, I
bought almost every plastic surgical text on the market in the hope that this would
guarantee success. I found it difficult and time consuming to extract information
from the larger texts and rued the lack of a short and succinct book to help me
with my studies. This articles aims to provide the reader with a sturdy scaffold of
plastic surgical knowledge, which can then be supplemented from other sources. I
hope that it will be useful to plastic surgeons of all levels the world over; if it makes
exam preparation any less frustrating it will have served its purpose.
